I bought this car in '93 for $450 with a leaking headgasket. It needed a lot of TLC, as the previous owner didn't repair things as they broke. My car has basically been converted to '83/'84 GTI standards (by me slowly over the years), except for the turbo-diesel motor and the wide-ratio 5 speed transmission. It has 14 inch "bottlecap" wheels, GTI seats, GTI sway bars, upper and lower stress bars (up front), Neuspeed lowering springs, Boge Pro-gas shocks/struts, GTI interior (seats/tach (converted for diesel)/VDO gauges/steering wheel/dash facia/etc.), vented disks, VW factory cruise control (pulled from an Audi 4000), GTI air dam, custom-made turbo timer, K&N air filter, TT 2.25" exhaust with a Borla Stainless straight-through muffler, etc.
